The first question on our book "Wounded" was "How do you think Marcus's family felt when his father had his time out at war extended? How do you think the family's dynamic might change when he returns?" A few good responses came up, the first comment was made by Mateen, he explained how all of Marcus’s family had been crushed when the father left for war. He then commented again about how detailed Eric Walters is when he writes (He said it sounds like a "fellow army man" is writing it, does that mean you’re in the army Mateen? ). Reshad also came up and he agreed that the family is down because they had to wait three more months to see their father. Kyle afterward made a small comment agreeing that they were upset. Skylar made a point about the dad being tired when he finally arrived at home, and the family will be overwhelmed with joy, and also that the family changed him. Reshad wrapped up the chat with a short sentence about post dramatic stress disorder and the back of the book. Most of these comments agreed with each other, that the family is sad because the father is out longer.
